Ein Neues Abenteuer

As many of you know I tend to lean much more towards being a planner vs. being spontaneous. So because I can’t help it I create plans…1 year plans, 5 year plans, 10 year plans, etc. So far my plans haven’t really ever fully worked out. This often leaves me wondering what God has in store for my life. However, in the past 6 months I’ve grown to appreciate the journey that I’m on. It doesn’t always make sense to me, but I’m living in the moment and trusting that God’s plan is so much greater than mine ever could be.

In keeping with the spirit of trusting God, I found out yesterday that my company has given me the opportunity to go on a 3-month assignment to Austria. My work responsibilities will stay mostly the same, with the addition of supporting our Austrian site of 500+ employees and training their new compensation team. I will be living in Villach, a picturesque city of approximately 60,000 people. The climate is very similar to Portland and it is located in the midst of the Austrian Alps. Luckily, I will be able to take my trusty sidekick Zara with me.

I was initially caught off guard by the news, but have had no hesitation in accepting the opportunity. I’m anxious, nervous, and still taking it all in. However, most importantly I am completely at peace amidst all of the craziness.

I would appreciate your prayers during the next couple months as I take a leap of faith and venture off to Europe. If you want to know more about this trip, please feel free to get a hold of me on Facebook, through the blog, or by phone. And…if you want to take a trip to Austria this summer, you’ll have a free place to stay.
